iDOX Document Management System
iDOX Archive offers a standard, scalable, open, and full-featured solution for the management of enterprise documents. It is completely built on open standards which provides natural integration with the other iDOX ECM applications, such as Correspondence Management system. In addition, iDOX Archive was build depending on National Center for Archives & Records (NCAR) rules.
iDOX Archive commonly provide storage, versioning, metadata, security, as well as indexing and retrieval capabilities. Here is a description of these components:
- Metadata: Metadata is typically stored for each document. Metadata may, for example, include the date the document was stored and the identity of the user storing it.
The metadata text can be used to assist users in locating documents by identifying probable keywords or providing for full text search capability, or can be used on its own. - Capture: Capture primarily involves accepting and processing images of paper documents from scanners or multifunction printers. Capture may also involve accepting electronic documents and other computer-based files.
- Store: Store electronic documents. Storage of the documents includes management of those same documents; where they are stored, migration of the documents from one storage media to another (hierarchical storage management) and eventual document destruction.
- Security: Document security is a part of iDOX Archive; the security might be applied on Department level, user level or document itself.
- Search: Finds documents using template attributes or full text search. Documents can be searched using various attributes and document content based on their Metadata.
iDOX Archive provides support for the two distinct document imaging ideas: Graphical and Textual Imagery. The most common one, graphical imagery, is to make a digital representation of a document. Text imagery, on the other hand, depends on optical character recognition (OCR) to convert scanned text into standard word processing documents, while intentionally disregarding drawings and figures.
- Multiple / single Interactive capture (Scanning of single and multi-page documents).
- A programming interface standard for major TWAIN scanning drivers.
- Common graphical image formats such as TIFF and JPEG.
- Color scanning.
- Double sided scanning.
- Image quality enhancements, including de-skewing and de-speckling.
- Add documents electronically (upload single document or multiple documents).
- Scan documents from the integrated scanning interface.
